Everything you need to know about buying professional cine and film production equipment from FullFrameGear in Kochi — condition grading, usage hours, payment, pickup, shipping, returns, and more.

Buying from FullFrameGear

How do I buy from FullFrameGear?

Browse listings at fullframegear.com/shop, find the item you’re interested in, then contact us via WhatsApp or email. We confirm availability, answer questions, and arrange payment and delivery or pickup from our Kochi warehouse. For items above ₹50,000, an in-person viewing is strongly recommended before you commit.

Can I negotiate the price?

No — all prices on FullFrameGear are fixed and set transparently at fair market value. There are no auctions, no bidding, and no back-and-forth. What you see is what you pay. The one discount available is the Malayalam Filmmakers community discount — up to 10% off camera and equipment packages for verified members.

How do I know if an item is still available?

All listings on the site reflect current in-stock inventory. If it’s visible, it’s available. For fast-moving items — camera kits, lens sets, popular monitors — message us on WhatsApp to confirm before making the trip to Kochi. We update listings in real time when items sell.

Can I reserve an item without paying?

We can hold an item for up to 24 hours when you book a viewing at our Kochi warehouse. Holds are not available for items being shipped — those are first-come, first-served. To request a hold, contact us via WhatsApp with the item and your preferred viewing time.

Condition grading — A, B, and C explained

What does Grade A mean?

Grade A is our highest condition tier. Items are near-new cosmetically — minimal to no visible wear, fully functional, and typically very lightly used. Any minor cosmetic details are noted in the listing. All core functions pass our inspection checklist. Grade A items are ideal for buyers where cosmetic condition matters alongside performance.

What does Grade B mean?

Grade B items show light cosmetic wear consistent with careful professional use — small marks, minor finish wear, or light handling traces. Fully functional. All known cosmetic details are disclosed in listing photos and condition notes. Grade B is the most common grade for professional production gear and represents excellent value for working filmmakers.

What does Grade C mean?

Grade C items show visible cosmetic wear — more pronounced marks, scuffs, or signs of heavy use — but are fully functional. Any functional issues beyond cosmetics are disclosed separately in the listing notes. Grade C offers the best price-to-performance ratio for buyers who prioritise what the gear does over how it looks on a shelf.

How are items inspected before listing?

Every item goes through a functional checklist before going live — power, recording, sensor and image quality, ports and connectors, buttons and controls, and item-specific checks (autofocus, wireless systems, gimbal calibration, etc.). Cosmetic condition is graded independently from function. Usage hours for camera bodies are pulled from the camera’s internal data where accessible.

Usage hours and camera bodies

What are usage hours on a cinema camera?

Usage hours (also called recording hours or operating hours) is the total cumulative time a camera body has been powered on and recording, stored in the camera’s internal log. It is the cinema camera equivalent of a shutter count — a key indicator of total use and the first number any serious buyer should check. For example, the Sony FX9 in our current inventory shows 103 hours — very low for a professional body.

How many hours is considered high use for a cinema camera?

Professional cinema camera bodies — Sony FX9, FS7, Venice, RED, ARRI — are engineered for tens of thousands of operating hours. 103 hours is extremely low use. A well-maintained body at 2,000–5,000 hours is still considered highly serviceable for most productions. What matters more than raw hours is the maintenance history, condition grade, and how the camera tests during inspection.

Is shutter count the same as usage hours?

No. Shutter count measures mechanical actuations on DSLR and mirrorless cameras — one count per photo taken. Usage hours or recording hours is the relevant metric for cinema cameras and video-oriented mirrorless bodies, measuring total powered recording time. For hybrid cameras like the Sony A7 III or A7S III, we note both where the camera makes them accessible.

Are usage hours available for all camera bodies?

We pull usage hours from the camera’s internal data for all bodies where this is natively accessible. Some camera models do not store or display this figure — in those cases, we note it clearly in the listing. If you need usage hours for a specific body and it isn’t in the listing, contact us and we’ll check the individual unit before you visit.

What’s included in listings and kits

What does the “what’s included” checklist cover?

The checklist lists every item that comes with the purchase — batteries, chargers, memory cards, cables, lens caps and rear caps, camera plates, shoulder pads, handles, cases, original box (if present), manuals, and any accessories bundled with the kit. Nothing is assumed. If it’s not on the checklist, it’s not included. Read the checklist carefully before enquiring, and ask if anything is unclear.

Are original manufacturer boxes included?

Where the original box is present and in reasonable condition, it will be listed in the checklist. Many professional production items have been in active use without their original retail packaging — this is standard for working production gear. If the original box matters to you, check the listing or ask us directly before purchasing.

For kit listings, does everything in the checklist come included?

Yes. Kit listings — Sony FX9 Kit, Sony A7S III Kit, Rokinon XEEN CF 6-Lens PL Set, Sony GM Prime Set — include every item documented in the listing’s “what’s included” checklist. These are complete working kits assembled from their original production configuration. Review the checklist and ask us if anything needs clarification before you visit.

Can I buy a single item from a kit rather than the full set?

Some sets can be broken up on request — for example, a single cine lens from a PL set, or a single filter from a filter kit. Contact us via WhatsApp to ask about a specific item. Pricing for individual items pulled from sets will be quoted separately. Note that splitting a set may affect the availability and pricing of the remaining items.

Payment

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept UPI (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, and others), bank transfer (NEFT / RTGS / IMPS), and card payment via online checkout. For high-value purchases, bank transfer is preferred — confirmation is sent to you immediately on receipt. Cash is not accepted. For in-person pickups, payment and handover happen at the same time.

Do you issue GST invoices?

Yes. A GST tax invoice is issued on request for all purchases. Our registered entity is LowLightKing Productions Pvt Ltd, GSTIN 32AAECL9221H1ZP. Mention your company name and GSTIN when you enquire or at checkout and we’ll include it on your invoice. We can also issue invoices for B2B purchases by production houses and studios.

Is full payment required upfront?

Yes — full payment is required to confirm an order or hold an item post-viewing. We do not offer instalment plans or partial payment holds. For in-person pickups, payment and gear transfer happen at the same time in our Kochi warehouse. For shipped orders, items are dispatched on payment confirmation.

Are prices inclusive of GST?

Prices listed on FullFrameGear are the fixed asking prices for each item. GST applicability depends on the transaction type and your entity classification. If you require a GST-inclusive price breakdown for your purchase, mention it when you enquire and we will confirm the full amount before payment is made.

Pickup and shipping

Can I pick up from your Kochi location?

Yes — in-person pickup from our Kochi warehouse is our preferred handover method, especially for camera bodies, lens kits, and all items above ₹50,000. You inspect the item, we confirm condition together, and you walk away the same day. Book a viewing via WhatsApp or the booking form and we’ll have the gear ready when you arrive.

Do you deliver within Kerala?

Yes. Items are professionally packed and dispatched via insured courier on payment confirmation. Tracking details are sent to you immediately after dispatch. Delivery to most locations within Kerala takes 1–3 business days. High-value items are double-boxed with appropriate cushioning and shipping insurance.

Do you ship outside Kerala?

On a case-by-case basis. Contact us before ordering if you’re outside Kerala — we’ll confirm courier options, insurance, and any additional cost for your specific location and item. Camera bodies and lens sets may require additional insurance for long-distance shipping. We do not ship internationally at this time.

How do you pack items for shipping?

High-value items are double-boxed with anti-static precautions for electronics, adequate cushioning, and shipping insurance where required. We photograph items before packing as a condition record. Buyers are strongly encouraged to record an unboxing video on receipt — this is required evidence for any DOA or transit damage claim.

Returns and after-sales

What is your return window?

DOA (Dead on Arrival) must be reported within 48 hours of delivery or pickup. Material mismatch versus the listing must be reported within 72 hours. Extended testing windows — for example, a 7-day window — are only available where explicitly stated on the specific listing or invoice. If no window is stated, no extended window applies. See the full Refund and Returns Policy.

What counts as DOA (Dead on Arrival)?

DOA means the item arrives non-functional or materially impaired in a way that was not disclosed in the listing. It does not include compatibility issues with your existing workflow, subjective dissatisfaction, or cosmetic wear consistent with the condition grade. Report within 48 hours with an unboxing video (strongly recommended), photos of the item and serial number, and notes on your test setup.

What is a material mismatch?

A material mismatch means the item received is meaningfully different from what was listed — wrong model, wrong mount type, missing critical accessories that were listed as included, or an undisclosed major defect not mentioned in the listing. Minor cosmetic differences consistent with the condition grade are not a mismatch. Report within 72 hours with photos and your order details.

How do I start a return claim?

Email [email protected] with subject line “Return Request – [Order/Invoice #]”. Include your name, phone, order number, reason (DOA / mismatch / shipping damage), unboxing video link, photos of the item and serial number, and your test setup notes. Do not ship anything back without written RMA approval from us first — unapproved returns may be refused.

How do I claim the Malayalam Filmmakers discount?

Specific gear questions

Do you sell complete kits or individual items?

Both. We stock complete production-ready kits — Sony FX9 Kit, Sony A7S III Kit, Sony A7 III Kit, Rokinon XEEN CF 6-Lens PL Set, Sony GM Prime Set — as well as individual items across every category: cameras, lenses, audio, lighting, grip, monitors, filters, and accessories. Kit and individual item listings are clearly labelled in the shop.

Are PL mount cine lenses compatible with Sony cameras?

PL mount cine lenses — like the Rokinon XEEN CF set — require a PL-to-E-mount adapter to work on Sony mirrorless bodies. We stock the Metabones PL-to-E adapter separately. For native E-mount use without an adapter, the Sony G Master prime and zoom lenses in our inventory are direct-fit with full autofocus and electronic communication. Check the listing or ask us before purchasing.

Do you verify compatibility between items before I buy?

We can advise on known compatibility between items in our inventory — lens mounts, media types, power systems, and accessory protocols. However, you are ultimately responsible for verifying compatibility with your existing workflow, firmware versions, third-party accessories, and specific use cases. Compatibility issues are not DOA grounds unless we explicitly guaranteed compatibility in writing.

Is there a warranty on items?

We offer the return window in our Refund and Returns Policy — DOA within 48 hours, material mismatch within 72 hours. Extended testing warranties (e.g. 7 days) are only offered where explicitly stated on the specific listing. We do not carry manufacturer warranties on pre-owned items. For mission-critical shoots, test all gear on receipt before your production date.
